Family-in-Residence Studio Sunday: Cosmic Possibilities

28 January, 1–4pm

This event has passed. FREE, drop-in

Unlock your creativity at our free, artist-led workshops for families in the Clore Learning Studio.

Join us at this special session run by Kettle’s Yard Family-in-Residence, the Arnold-Mills, to discover an interactive world of play and making inspired by the Children’s Room at the LYC Museum & Art Gallery. Featuring a range of creative activities for people of all ages, including:

• A collaborative ‘make your mark’ sign-in wall-based artwork

• Interactive cosmic mapping with a mix of materials, magnets and projected drawings

• Junk-modelled cosmic world-making with recycled materials

• Black light graffiti

• Cosmic collage and spray paint picture-making

We encourage parents and caregivers to create alongside their children during the workshop. If the studio is busy you may be asked to come back later, but you can pick up our free take-home art activities at the desk to keep the creativity flowing.

What Our Visitors Say

It’s amazing how creative we can be when given the opportunity. Thank you Kettle’s Yard.

Thank you for this event! My family loved it (as with all the family studio events you usually organise).

Our girls had a lovely time and our eldest, who often struggles with unfamiliar environments and tasks, settled right in so much that they didn’t want to leave at the end. The coordinators were great. We’ll be back!

Access

The Clore Learning Studio is accessible. It can be reached by stairs or by lift, to the basement -1 floor. There is an accessible toilet with baby changing facilities in the basement beside the Learning Studio. There are more toilets and facilities on the ground and first floors.
