Changes at Kettle’s Yard

The impact of rising costs, standstill funding and Covid-19 has had a negative impact upon the finances of Kettle’s Yard. We need to generate more income each year so that we can continue our important work.

We have therefore decided to introduce an admission charge to visit the Kettle’s Yard House from 25 April 2023. This additional income will help to ensure that the House continues to be a unique experience for visitors, and that we can conserve the art and objects on display for current and future generations.

There will be a standard admission charge of £10.50 (£12 with a donation) for House entry. The substantial exhibitions programme and many events will remain free. To make visiting the House affordable for the widest possible audience, we are offering free entry to anyone aged 25 and under.

Our standard annual Friends membership will remain £30 per year and will allow free entry to the House year round, as well as discounts in our shop and invitations to special events. We are also working closely with our Community Partners to ensure their continued free access.

This has not been an easy decision to make. We hope that everyone who cares about Kettle’s Yard, its uniqueness and value, will understand that our aim is to ensure that Kettle’s Yard is financially sustainable into the future and that we can continue to use art to enrich, teach and inspire for years to come.
