About Remember Nature
On 4 November 2025 we were delighted to take part in a national Day of Action as part of the Remember Nature 2025 project.
Remember Nature is a new iteration of a visionary art project that was initiated in 2015 by the celebrated artist Gustav Metzger (1926–2017). In Remember Nature (2015) Metzger called on arts professionals and students from all disciplines “to make a stand against the ongoing erasure of species”.
To mark the 10th anniversary of Remember Nature on 4 November 2025, there was a nationwide day of art action to stand up for nature, realising Metzger’s hope and belief in the future power of art to halt universal extinction.
Throughout 2025, 16 regional galleries across the UK have been working with a different artist to create public interventions to remember nature. We worked with Cornelia Parker.
What Did We Do?
In the lead up to the Day of Action, we worked with 800 pupils from Arbury and Milton Road primary schools in Cambridge. Responding to Parker’s film ‘THE FUTURE (Sixes and Sevens)’ local schoolchildren drew pictures of and write notes about what they wanted to be when they grew up, and why nature would be important for that.
On 4 November we displayed over 1300 works from the young people, filling Kettle’s Yard with the hopes for the future and calls for climate action. The artworks were displayed all over Kettle’s Yard, including in the house, the welcome area and even on the ceiling!
We also spoke to some of students from Milton Road Primary, who told us more about what they wrote and why. You can hear what they had to say in our video below.

All the children have gifted their work to Cornelia Parker as part of an on-going project. We are gratefully to The Art Fund who have supported the schools’ engagement in the project.
