Megan Breckell
Megan joined Kettle’s Yard in October 2023 as a Curatorial Assistant, working on our upcoming exhibitions with the Curatorial team. She gained a BA in History of Art from the University of Warwick and an MA in Art History and Museum Curating from the University of Sussex. Meg has previously worked at The Charleston Trust within the Exhibitions Team and Visitor Services, as well as volunteering at various museum and heritage organisations whilst studying, with a focus on projects relating to social history though fashion and dress. Her interests lie in material culture and the domestic realm, exploring how the process of collecting objects – from works of art to ephemera – can be made, used and curated as a means of creating and expressing an individual’s identity.
Megan’s favourite thing about Kettle’s Yard:
Christopher Wood is one of my favourite artists and Kettle’s Yard has a wonderful selection of his work on display in the house. When I visited Kettle’s Yard as a student, I was particularly struck by the fabulous jumper Wood has depicted himself wearing in his Self-Portrait. I have since knitted my own version!
