About Rebecca Gregg

Lavinia Fontana (half cleaned) © Philip Mould & Co

Rebecca works with public museums, private collectors and art dealers, leading an all-female team of conservators who focus on delivering practical solutions to complex conservation challenges. Rebecca was one of the specialist conservators from the BBC One programme Fake or Fortune.

This visit will provide an overview of the methods and tools used in conservation, including surface cleaning, structural repairs and retouching. Rebecca will also offer advice on how to judge the condition of a painting and will discuss the decision-making process that guides the treatment of each artwork, balancing historical accuracy with aesthetic considerations, offering valuable insights into considerations involved in preserving works of art.
