A Visit to the London Home of Art Collectors Lord and Lady Davies of Abersoch

Wednesday 27 May 2026, 6.45-8.30pm

We are delighted to invite the Friends of Kettle’s Yard to a private evening visit to the London home of art collectors Lord and Lady Davies of Abersoch, who have a substantial and thoughtfully curated collection of modern and contemporary art.

Their home, located within the Battersea Power Station development, provides a striking setting in which to experience a collection that reflects many years of close engagement with artists, galleries and cultural institutions.

Light buffet and refreshments included.

Sold Out £36 Friends, (£42 non-Friends) booking required (price inclusive of 20% VAT)

Highlights include powerful abstract paintings by Frank Bowling, alongside more intimate and intricately detailed works on paper by Antony Gormley. These sit in thoughtful dialogue with oil paintings by the Welsh artist Kyffin Williams, whose landscapes introduce a quieter, contemplative note. Sculpture also plays an important role throughout the home, with bronze and stone works whose organic forms animate the living spaces.

Together, the collection reflects an ongoing, evolving engagement with both established and emerging artists, and a belief in living closely with art.

About Lord and Lady Davies

Lord and Lady Davies have been building their collection over many years, guided by curiosity, connoisseurship and a deep personal commitment to the visual arts. The collection is diverse and eclectic, bringing together pieces that span different generations, styles and media, inclusive of works by both established and emerging artists.

Lord Mervyn Davies has long been involved in public service, business and cultural life in the UK, and has supported a wide range of arts and educational initiatives. Alongside Lady Jeanne Davies, he has been a committed patron of the arts, supporting museums, galleries and charitable causes, and fostering close relationships with artists and cultural organisations.

Their shared interest in art, architecture and philanthropy underpins both their collecting and their generosity in opening their home to groups such as the Friends of Kettle’s Yard.

About Battersea Power Statiom

The Battersea Power Station development is one of London’s most significant architectural regeneration projects. The former power station, designed by Sir Giles Gilbert Scott, has been carefully restored and reimagined, combining historic industrial architecture with contemporary residential and cultural spaces.

Apartments within the development offer dramatic views across the Thames and London skyline, and provide an exceptional setting in which art, architecture and design intersect — making it a particularly fitting location for this visit.
