Tuesday 24 October 2023, 6 - 7.30pm
The Friends are invited to the home of Katrin Bellinger, who began collecting in 1985 in parallel to her career as a dealer in Old Master drawings.
This is an opportunity to attend a very special private evening and drinks at the home of collector Katrin Bellinger to view her current display of paintings and drawings, the focus of which is pre-1900, with a few contemporary works.
Location: Notting Hill (details provided to attendees closer to the event). Own transport
Further Information
Fascinated with the artistic process and the mystique surrounding it, Katrin Bellinger has chosen to focus on one theme: the artist at work. Since then her collection has expanded considerably and now includes over 1800 examples in a range of media – drawings, paintings, prints, photographs and sculpture – from the Renaissance to the present day.
Among the artists represented are Parmigianino, Rembrandt, Watteau, Tiepolo, Ingres, Daumier, Seurat, Ensor, and Freud to name but a few. You may have come across her collection , as last year, Katrin Bellinger loaned works to the show “Absent Artists” at Charleston House in Sussex, and to the exhibition “A Century of the Artist’s Studio: 1920–2022” at Whitechapel Gallery in London. Where “Absent Artists”—which included Bellinger’s works by Annie Leibovitz, David Hockney, and Phyllida Barlow—showcased images of the artist’s studio (without the artist present), “A Century of the Artist’s Studio” included over 100 years of artworks that focus on artists’ creative pursuits.
