The Friends of Kettle’s Yard have been invited to a special viewing of an important exhibition by Nigel Hall. One of Britain’s most renowned contemporary artists, his works can be found in numerous international museums and private collections such as the Tate Gallery in London, the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin, the National Museum of Art in Osaka, the Museum of Modern Art in New York and the Musée National d’Art Museum in Paris.

Nigel is also well represented in Cambridge with large scale works at Churchill College, Pembroke College and the Alison Richard Building on the Sidgwick Site. You can also find two of Nigel’s works in the Kettle’s Yard collection, find out more here.

About

Nigel has written about the exhibition:

There is no specific theme except for making an attempt to show how these three nouns, line, edge, shadow, collectively inform my two and three dimensional works. Hopefully, the gallery works will join with one large sculpture on the lawn to give an indication of my longstanding interest in exploring interior/exterior themes.

The Robert Cripps Gallery forms part of the new library which was the worthy winner of the prestigious RIBA Stirling Prize for the best new building in Britain.

We will have the opportunity to meet and talk to Nigel and refreshments will be provided.

Funds raised through this event will go towards supporting Kettle’s Yard.

Event organiser: John Gray.
