Adult Painting Workshop - Prisms of Colour with artist Hilary Moreton
Saturday 20 January, 10am - 3.30pm
In this adult painting workshop explore colour-mixing through painting with artist Hilary Moreton.
Be inspired by the colours found in artworks in the Kettle’s Yard house in this colour-mixing and painting workshop. In particular, we will be inspired by the work of Winifred Nicholson and her fascination and exploration of colour, including her works currently displayed in our exhibition Making New Worlds: Li Yuan-chia & Friends.
During the sessions you will:
- spend time discovering artworks in Kettle’s Yard house and exhibitions
- work with an artist to experiment with colour-mixing
- apply your new colour-mixing skills and experiment with painting
Please note this workshop does not include lunch and you will need to bring your own.

Interesting content, beautifully facilitated, really good value. Thank you so much for giving us this opportunity. We hope there will be more like this!

About Hilary Moreton
Hilary Moreton’s practice is based in drawing and printmaking. Hilary uses mark making to explore movement and space. She is interested in map and journeys. She writes: “When I’m walking all I think about is walking. When I’m drawing all I think about is drawing. On paper I am free to move with the grace, precision and speed that I lack in my body.” Hilary’s recent works have been inspired by the organic lines of trees and plants as well as weathered pavements and the built environment around her.
