Sonya Dyer

Sonya Dyer is an artist working primarily in sculpture and moving image. Her work intertwines science, speculative fiction and mythologies, exploring where the centre is located in fictional narratives of the future. She combines seemingly disparate practices and knowledge forms, such as morse code, Kemetic yoga and astronomy to re-inscribe neglected stories. Recent works include: hybrida composita (2024), a sculpture commissioned for the permanent collection at The Box, Plymouth, and Portals (2024) a digital collaboration with writer Rivers Soloman for LAS Foundation, Berlin. She was a resident artist at Somerset House Studios, London, and is currently Lecturer in Fine Art at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
