Sarah Maple
Sarah Maple (born 1985) is an artist whose work spans a variety of media such as performance, painting, installation, collage and photography. She graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Kingston University in 2007. Much of Maple’s inspiration comes from her mixed religious and cultural upbringing as the daughter of a white British father and Muslim Indian mother, raised in Kenya. Her works examine current affairs through satirical and tongue-in-cheek commentary, questioning ideas of identity and belonging. She has been included in exhibition at museums and galleries such as Tate Britain, York Art Gallery and Golden Thread Gallery, Belfast. In 2023, she published a book titled Labour of Love.
