Born 1946
Chia was born in Florence, Italy, where he graduated in painting at the Accademia di Belle Arti in 1969. At first a highly conceptual artist, he later contributed to the development of the Italian movement ‘Transavanguardia’. He lives between Tuscany, Rome and New York.
