Lauren Clemmet

Lauren began working at Kettle’s Yard when it reopened to the public in February 2018 as a Visitor Assistant and then also as a Duty Manager before moving to the role of Bookings and Concert Assistant in Autumn 2022.

She has a BA(hons) in Fine Art from Loughborough University and an MA in Children’s Book Illustration from Cambridge School of Art, Anglia Ruskin University.

Lauren’s favourite thing about Kettle’s Yard:

One of many highlights of my role at Kettle’s Yard is working on the fantastic music programme and meeting a wonderful variety of people who come through our doors. Not to mention the inspirational house and exhibitions. Even when not working on my own art practice I am surrounded by such creativity.

It’s hard to pin down one favourite thing… The way the day moves through both the house (and sometimes gallery 2), casting beams of light and shadow into the space, forever drawing your attention in a new way to an object or artwork you thought familiar, is often spectacular. Especially in those golden autumnal hours! Jim Ede knew how to harness this to create those important and magical moments.
