Julia Ball
1930-2025
Local artist Julia Ball lived in Cambridge from the early 1960s. She was inspired by the East Anglian landscape which she depicted in an abstract style focusing on light and colour. Ball sketched throughout the seasons and frequently painted outdoors. She helped to launch Cambridge Open Studios, an event supporting local artists, which has been running for over 50 years. Her work features in The Women’s Art Collection at Murray Edwards College, Cambridge.
