Jennifer Durrant

Born 1942
Durrant studied at Brighton College of Art (1959-63) and the Slade School of Art, London (1963-66). In 1972 she travelled to the United State, consolodating her interest in Abstract Expressionism. Although mostly abstractm, her work has strong symbolic and spiritual contents. In 1979 she was the first woman artist in residence at Oxford University. She was elected Royal Academician in 1994.
