Irina Hale
Anglo-Russian artist Irina Hale was a painter, print maker and illustrator born in London, 1932. She studied at Bath Academy of Art and frequently used recycled materials in her works such as cardboard and fabrics. Irina Hale was motivated by social justice and her works often depicted refugees and people living in hardship. She moved to Valle d’Itria in Puglia, Italy in the 1970s where she was made an honorary citizen in recognition of her artistic contributions to society.
