Billy Dosanjh

Billy Dosanjh (born 1981) is a filmmaker and photographer who was born and raised in the Black Country. He completed an MA in Documentary Directing at the National Film and Television School in 2008. Dosanjh’s practice bridges personal diaspora with global critiques of empire, focusing on subjects such as postwar South Asian immigrant stories and the landscapes of the de-industrialised Black Country. He employs film, photography, sculpture, printmaking and painting to explore marginalised narratives and systems of power. He is Associate Lecturer in Filmmaking (Screen Documentary) at Goldsmiths College, University of London.
