Born 1924 – DIED 2013
Caro was born in New Malden, Surrey. He discovered the modern language while working as an assistant to Henry Moore in the 1950s. In the 1960s he abandoned his early figurative style and began to make constructed sculptures. He was knighted in 1987 and received the Order of Merit in 2000.
